Fuddruckers is an old favorite of mine, and this was the first time I went to the DSM location. Friendly staff, fresh condiments, and good burgers. Didn't disappoint!

Excellent meal in a fun clean environment. I had the bacon avocado salad - relish. Hubs had the 1/2 lb burger and said it was excellent, bread fresh. Had the jalapeño cheese on his fries - YUM! 10YO had chicken nuggets and thought they were great. This is the first time here, passing through on a trip...we will be back when passing through again.

I've heard of Fuddruckers before but never really knew what kind of food they had or what atmosphere they provided. Well I did a little research before eating here and then I ate there, and well lets just say it's not really my type of place for food. For those who are unfamiliar with what Fuddruckers is, it's basically a burger place with a burger bar to add whatever you want to the burger you just ordered. First, you walk in and take a peak at the menu which is actually pretty extensive, you order fast food style at the counter and you take a seat wherever you'd like until they page you with the pager. The food was not cheap, I was actually surprised at the total cost, we had the nachos for starters, a crispy chicken burger and a Southwest burger. Now there were many options on the menu and those were the first things that just came to our heads when we ordered on the fly. Overall the food was okay, except for the nachos those were not good at all, don't get the nachos. The chips were thick and hard, not much flavor either. The burgers were okay, the burger bar had everything you can think of to add to your burger. (Veggies, condiments, even nacho cheese sauce) The atmosphere of the place felt like a Chuck E Cheese without the games and kids running around, it was like a boring Chuck E Cheese. I didn't like it. Overall, would I try it again? Maybe if someone tells me that I made a bad choice with what I ordered and I should try "blank" because it's the most awesome thing there, then yes I would try it again.

This is the only Fuddruckers I have ever been to. I have always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere here. Everything I've ever ordered has been fine by me, and it pretty much equals food at any other similar establishment like this. The ordering system here has always ticked me off to no end. You walk in the door and order at the counter, which is no big deal. I could care less. But I have never had a good experience with the pick-up method. It seems like every time I've gone, everyone else around me gets a number or something for their food and it is called when they are ready. I have never been given a number and have been made to wait there for long periods of time looking like a fool. Half the time my food was never even put through. It's for these last few reasons that I have a love-hate relationship with Fuddruckers, with more of an emphasis on the hate side.

Had a coupon. Went in and discovered they expect YOU to help them prepare your food. I thought the idea of going to a restaurant was to get service and have your food prepared for you. You wait in line to pay them first. Then they give you a disk that flashed and vibrated to call you when your burger is cooked. You have to pick it up and then add everything on it yourself. You have to pour your own drinks. This is like going to a supermarket self serve checkout, I still remember when you could go to a service station and have the attendant pump your gas, check your oil, and replace any fluids on the spot. I remember when restaurants were run by families not corporations. Everything they offered was made from scratch with all natural ingredients and the food was fantastic.

Not much has changed since my previous review other than the server was confused by our coupon we had received via email. But they made it right and gave us some free fries! Also compared to Red Robin, the burgers here were less greasy, which I appreciated. All in all still good for a chain burger joint.

They are ok. I love that they have a lot of choices. There food is great. It is pretty clean. I'm not a fan of the fast food idea because I like talking with the family. Also the don't bring the food to your table, you have to get it

I've visited many Fuddruckers throughout the US and the West Des Moines Fuddruckers is absolutely the best I've been to. Good service, friendly staff, clean comfortable environment, great burgers, fries, shakes, etc. - their loaded fries are fantastic.

We had a coupon for Fudruckers so we decided to head over and check it out. The staff and the service was great but the food was medicore. I ordered the nachos which were bland, covered in really bad processed cheese, and the world's teeniest dollops of sour cream and guacamole. Not even a hint of spice. The kiddo had the chicken tender platter with fries-the tenders were fine, the fries were awfully bland. Neither she nor the hubby cared for the cookie that came with her meal. The hubby had a buffalo burger with fries-he too thought his fries were bland and the bacon on his sandwich was sad. The run down-tastes like fast food, costs way too much. We won't be going back.

We've stopped here 5-6 times over the past few years on our way to see relatives in Iowa and the service has been fine. The food is on par with Red Robin as you can have your burger anyway you want it but ours have never really been HOT when we received our food. And like Red Robin the fries are frozen potatoes which leaves much to be desired. The burgers at Five Guys are served HOTTER and their fries are FRESH CUT.

First time being here in a few years and it was disappointing. The employee at the register was unfriendly. We received our food quicker than expected since it was a busy Saturday night. The burgers were very dry and lacked tasted. We had to dip our burgers in ranch. I would still give it another chance.

Great burgers and a very nice fixings bar. Three adult meals with 4 beers and two children's meals for under $50. It's not the cheapest burgers in town, but I would rather pay a little extra and not get a grease burger.

Great build your own burger place. Keep in mind that it is a chain and that items you add to your burger are off a buffet. It is a large place and the kids would love it for a party.

Went there and had the chopped sirloin platter with a salad. It was awesome, daughter had BBQ chicken. It was awesome. All at about 20 bux. Thanks.

It took me many years to finally go to Fuddruckers. And this is after living across the street from one at one point for almost 3 years. But finally try it I did. While I was not blown away by the food. It was very good. I really don't understand the need for a wait staff though. I saw our waiter once during our visit there. I thought the price was a bit high for what was basically a burger (which is what kept me away from restaurant all these years to begin with). But not unreasonable. All in all, I could see myself returning every so often. But I've yet to find myself saying "We need to go back to this place because I have a taste for..."

Fuddruckers is a place that bridges the gap between straight up fast food like McDonalds and Wendy's and sit down burger joints like Red Robin and Ruby Tuesdays. To me it really presents itself as a glorified Wendy's where you get in line and order food off of a menu behind the register operator. The difference here is that after you order you go find a seat and they bring your order out to you. They do serve beer which is good just because I think most grilled food goes well with beer. The burgers are fairly good however and they have a large condiment bar for people to individually complete their sandwich. Although I have never tried either the milkshakes or the items from their bakery I have heard good things about both. In my belief, if I am in the mood for a good sit down burger, I will head across the street to Red Robin, however, the burgers are good enough that if I was trying to avoid the whole sit down full service restaurant, I would go back.

We absolutely LOVE this place. The food is spectacular. It's one of the few places where we can get our burgers cooked rare (the way we want them). As long as you're careful about the add-ons, it's also reasonably priced.
